I've heard a lot of exhausts, nothing competes with either the Akrapovic exhaust for the 7.5 Golf R or the APR exhaust for the Golf R 7. The only place both of these exhausts are available are from Awesome GTI although limited stock for the Akrapovic exhaust. A comparison? The Akrapovic exhaust takes the crown, but only just. Its a deeper, louder tone. This is on idle, half throttle and WOT. Deceiving as it looks so subtle. The APR exhaust is extremely aggressive looking in comparison. Larger tailpipes and beautiful craftsmanship. It's bark is louder but a much more refined sound. Currently in the UK, the APR exhaust is just over half the cost of the Akra so therefore represents better value for money. Apples and oranges though, neither can fit the other model. By FAR the 2 best exhausts I've heard on 2ltr/ 2.5ltr car....yes, that includes the RS3 and the a45. Bold statement I know.
