This is a television drama prepared by USAID's 'Nepal Family Health Program II' on the role of Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHV) and their contribution in improving maternal, newborn and child health situation in rural Nepal. The drama is directed by popular Nepali actors/comedians/social activists Madan Krishna Shrestha and Haribansa Acharya. The FCHV program was started in 1988 by the Ministry of Health and Population with support from USAID and other donors to improve community participation and enhance the outreach of health services through local women working voluntarily. Nepal's Female Community Health Volunteers - a 50,000 strong cadre of volunteer women covering basic health services for women and children in every village across the country is a global model for strong community-based programs
