Nazek Hariri, widow of the late Lebanese ex- Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, a Jordanian Lebanese Palestinian woman who now heads all social and charity organizations established by her husband in Lebanon, including the Hariri Foundation which provides scholarship funds to Lebanese students. Intensely private, valuing mostly the unity, cohesion and solidarity of her family, Nazek Hariri also works for several charitable causes including the International Osteoporosis Foundation, the Children’s Cancer Center in Beirut and the Muslim Institute for Orphanages as well as contributing generously to each of them. She now lives in Paris in an ornate mansion once belonging to Louis D'Eiffel, she supports Lebanese fashion designers, and encourages the Arts both in Lebanon and abroad and presides over the Beirut Festival Association.
