The story highlights how lust destroys relations and can push one to the limit where every wrong step taken towards achieving his/her desire seems legitimate. Gumraah is the psychological fight of Sarmad, a middling businessman who has turned rich, spending his entire life chasing his dreams and has never had a strong connection with his wife. Sarmad feels attracted towards his daughter Faryal’s friend Huma but keeps it to himself fearing social repercussions. Huma is a typical middle-class, girl-next-door who is involved with Faryal’s mediocre cousin Aaliyan, but has dreams of a lavish lifestyle. The story takes an exciting turn when Huma’s perception of love and relations changes upon discovering Faryal’s affair with a rich artist.
