撮影：February2017　伊豆の温暖な気候と早咲きの特色を生かし毎年２月上旬から開花しはじめ約１ヶ月を経て満開。この桜は、本州でも早咲きの種類に分類され、更に満開を長く維持できる特徴。数年前までは無名のカワヅザクラもここ数年で全国に浸透し、町内には8000本のカワヅザクラが咲き誇る。まつり期間中は２００万人前後が訪れる名所になった。また、ライトアップもされ夜桜見物も楽しめる。 Kawazu Cherry Blossom FestivaL Although the main cherry blossom season won’t get under way in Japan for another month, the town of Kawazu on the Izu peninsula, south-west of Tokyo is famous for its early-blooming cherry trees. Kawazu Sakura is the type of cherry blossom trees in Japan which starts blooming earlier than other trees usually in early February and has long-lasting blooming period for about 1 month depending on temperature. The Kawazu Cherry Blossom FestivaL is held yearly from early February to early March in the town of Kawazu.
