44871 in epic struggle to depart Salisbury, plus 6024 King Edward I on the GWR 175

The London Midland and Scottish Railway was the largest of Britain’s railways in the days of independence. It served the important cities of the midlands and the Northwest of England, as well as Scotland. To haul these trains it built some of the most powerful Express steam locomotives of all, the “Duchess” Pacifics of Sir William Stanier, as well as the “Princess Royals”. This collection of VHS shows Express steam locomotives in action, using rare archive footage from the 1950’s and 1960’s together with contemporary material of today. ------------ Captured with a brand new VCR: PANASONIC NV-VP30.
