Lao Chai is a Black Hmong village which can be reached by trekking from Sapa town, in Northern Vietnam. The trek provides panoramic views of rice fields and lush natural greenery enroute. At Lao Chai Village, one can see the way of life of the Black Hmong minority people. The people are friendly and receptive of the many tourists who visit their village every day. From Lao Chai, one can trek to the next village, Da Van, which is home to the Dzay, Red Dao, as well as Black Hmong people. It is a fruitful day trip to soak up the way of life of the local people.
