Stress on "you" Questioner could be talking to a group of different people, or asking specifically if the other person wants to. Stress on "like" Focusing on whether other person actually wants dinner later. Stress on "dinner" Questioner may offer other activities if response is negative. Stress on "later" Asking whether other person wants dinner later or sooner (i.e. now). Useful questions What's your name? Hi, what's your name? What do you do? (What is your job?) Hi, what do you do? How old are you? (Intrigued.) Where are you from? Which country are you from? I'm from England. Which country are you from?
