Second encounter with LHB Gujarat Mail - Grand Arrival at Dadar and accelerating past Mahim…

My second encounter with the LHB-fied Gujarat Mail. This was yesterday evening the Mumbai - Ahmedabad Mail, whereas in the morning I had captured the Ahmedabad to Mumbai Mail. As I was headed to Dadar in a Borivali fast train, I happened to catch the LHB rake being shunted from Dadar yard to Mumbai Central station at 6:40 pm. It was being taken by a WDS-6 shunting locomotive. 3 hours later I met railfan Arzan Kotval at Dadar station. At 10:15 pm, we captured the LHB rake making a glorious entry into Dadar platform 5, for the first time as the 12901 Mumbai - Ahmedabad Gujarat Mail. It was indeed a special moment. The locomotive in charge was a BRC WAP-5 (30079). After capturing the arrival we boarded a slow local train from Dadar to Mahim. And few minutes later, we captured the LHB Gujarat Mail yet again at Mahim as it accelerated past the station and picked up speed. It was indeed splendid captures for me. The Gujarat Mail is a very important and popular train on the Mumbai - Ahmedabad sector. Thus, converting the train from an old ICF rake to a brand new LHB rake is indeed a very good move by the railways. LHB rakes are much more comfortable and spacious than ICF rakes and the journey is smoother also. In addition to that LHB trains can also reach a higher speed. Hence it will make a huge difference to the patronage of this train. So sit back and enjoy the video… Date of video: 11th September, 2016 The video taken in the morning of the Ahmedabad - Mumbai Gujarat Mail entering Dadar and after that a thrilling parallel race with the LHB rake from Dadar to Mumbai Central can be seen as follows : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsqgSYNxwDs
